Ball State University – School of Music
April 27th, 2009
Dr. Luis Sanchez was awarded a Ball State University School
of Music Alumni Achievement Citation, in recognition for his
accomplishments in his career since completing his Doctorate
in 2002. On April 27th, Dr. Sanchez was invited to attend the
Honors Convocation where he addressed faculty and students.
International Piano Performance Examination Committee
July 29-August 30, 2009
In August 2009, Dr. Sanchez travelled throughout Taiwan serving as examiner of
the International Piano Performance Examination Committee. Throughout the month,
he assessed the playing of over 1500 students and worked with hundreds of students
and their teachers.

November 7, 2009
Sarah Jarvis (10th grade) from Longview, Texas won the Senior
Concerto Competition at the Thirty-First Annual 2009 UT Arlington
Fall Piano Contest. The judge for this event was Dr. Larry
Wiley. Sarah performed the first movement of Mendelssohn’s
G minor Piano Concerto, Op. 25.

May 9-14, 2010
Dr. Luis Sanchez has been invited to serve as adjudicator of
the 2010 MusicFest Northwest. Since 1945, Musicfest Northwest
has provided young music and dance students the opportunity
to perform and have their talent adjudicated by top professional
artists from across the U.S. It is the largest festival of
its kind on the West Coast. Students from elementary to post-
graduate level participate in ballet, brass flute, guitar,
organ, percussion, piano, reed, and string and voice divisions.
